LIKES
Balloons: He's not a five year old that screams and begs for them but he still likes them. Mostly he likes to write random things on them and let them float away.
Early morning: He likes the fact that people usually aren't awake and the quiet that surrounds the time of day.
Walking: It calms him down to walk places and besides why use a car when you have two perfectly good legs?
Music: Mostly he likes to listen to it but he does sing every now and then. Only when there aren't people around.
Books: He loves just about every kind of book even the nonfiction ones that most people think are extremely boring.
Grape flavored candy: To him it's one of the most amazing things in the world and you can typically tell that by the purple that stains his tongue and lips when he eats it.[/ul]
DISLIKES
Public Pools: The smell of chlorine and all the people shoved together in one space just does not appeal to him. He'd much rather go to a lake or river to swim.
Onions: He just hates everything about them. The smell, the taste, it all sucks in his opinion.
People that idiots: It really pisses him off when someone who doesn't know anything about a subject tries to act like they know everything about it.
Buses: Once again, like the public pools, it has to do with all the people packed together in one space.
Jerks: He hates people that are rude to others for no reason.
White: It's such a boring color. [/ul]
FEARS
His grandpa dying: He's already lost his parents and his grandfather isn't the youngest person.[/ul]
QUIRKS
Crossing his arms: He crosses his arms in front of his chest when he's feeling self-conscious or uncomfortable.[/ul]
SECRETS His father and mother were both killed in a car crash so he lives with his grandpa.
DREAMS
Travel the world: He's dreamed of going all around the world since he was a kid. [/ul]
PERSONAL HISTORY
Jude's parents, Michael and Anna, had a relationship like you see in the movies. They both worshiped the ground each other walked on, both were successful lawyers and only ever had the occasional fight that escalated into more than simple admonishments. Despite their wonderful marriage the arrival of their son was bittersweet. Though they loved children neither of them had ever warmed to the idea of being parents. They had both grown up without siblings watching their relatives fuss over babies and promising themselves that they would never have children of their own. The amount of adapting they had to go through to become parents was overwhelming and caused them to be a slight bit resentful towards the child that grew in Anna's stomach. Michael's beloved office was removed of all his precious books and papers and filled with a crib and toys.
The two well groomed lawyers welcomed their son into a world filled with apprehension and stiff smiles. Though they tried to raise him to be a quiet, well behaved child by giving him simple, noiseless toys Jude still managed to become a whirlwind of a kid. His parents had no idea what to do with their little boy who ran through the house with no thoughts about safety and climbed every surface he could find. It wasn't that they didn't love him because they did, they just didn't know how to take care of him.
Over the years they distanced themselves from Jude by handing him off to hired caregivers and pouring their entire beings into their joint law firm. Jude didn't really mind, the nannies let him jump all over the place and go on as many adventures in the woods as he wanted. He became a very outdoors oriented person and spent the majority of his time hidden in the forest behind his house. Every time his parents leaned their heads out the door to call him to dinner they were responded to with a shout of 'i'll be there in a minute' only to be greeted by their muddy child an hour after they had both finished their dinner. Anna managed to get Jude interested in books and both she and Michael sighed in relief when they were able to glance out the window and see their son seated Indian style under a tree with a book in his lap.
On Jude's twelfth birthday his parents grudgingly agreed to take him to the beach so he could see the ocean. The backseat of the car was alive with excited chatter during the drive. No matter how many times his mother asked him to please sit still and be quiet for a few minutes Jude continued to blabber on and on about how excited he was, pressing his body close to the door so he could peer out the window and watch the license plates of cars zooming by while shouting out each state to his parents. Unfortunately during one of the periods when Jude was sleeping a car full of rowdy teenagers, also on their way to the beach, lost control of their car and ended up slamming into the Bennett family car sending it spiraling out of control. Both Anna and Michael died before the paramedics could reach the scene of the accident, Jude survived the crash with a broken arm, a pair of broken glasses and a slew of cuts and bruises.
No matter how different Jude and his parents were in personality no child ever wants to be without their parents. Jude was left distraught from the loss of his own and though he didn't lose the adventurous side of his personality he did become much more withdrawn from people. After the arrangements were made he was sent off to Wellpint to live with his paternal grandfather a man much like his own father, very studious and not much accustomed to the ways of an adventurous boy. However the man did manage to form a much closer bond with Jude than his parents ever did and they both spend a lot of time laughing about books they've read or movies they find that suit both their tastes. These days Jude is an extremely friendly person and tends to get close to people a bit too quickly but there are times when he still shows the antisocial side he formed after the accident.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE
Colten yawned and stumbled a bit, clearly revealing how tired he was. He hadn’t managed to stumble upon any quick jobs for a few days and the money he had stored from the last job had been spent a while ago on food and a room in a motel. No jobs meant no money, and no money meant no room in a hotel so he had been sleeping in various parks and places like that for the past couple days which ultimately meant that he basically hadn’t gotten any sleep. He was tired of walking around aimlessly in the dark but he really didn’t want to try and find another park bench to sleep on, besides some convenience store clerk had told him about a circus that was in need of workers so his mind had been weighing the possibilities of getting a job all day, he just needed to find out where to go to possibly beg for a job.
It had been three years since he had left his mother’s house, three freakin’ years and he still hadn’t managed to find a place to settle down. Mostly that was because people didn’t want to hire a high school drop out who had tattoos spread across his skin and a piercing through his lip, they wanted people who looked clean-cut and responsible. He couldn’t look clean-cut nor responsible, no matter how hard he tried so every time he had actually tried to get a real job he had just received these ‘get the hell out of here, kid’ looks. He was actually starting to regret getting his tattoos, and he loved his tattoos, he always had but it was aggravating when people judged you because of ink etched into your skin. The circus didn’t seem like a place that would reject someone for having tattoos, his father had had tons of tattoos and he had been in the circus.
Pulling his thin hoodie tighter around himself, Colten continued walking. He hated the hoodie he was wearing, it was almost two sizes too big and made him look even smaller than he really was but it was still warm so he probably shouldn’t complain about it. He squinted at the building that was nearby and wondered if this was that administrative building that the clerk had spoken about. Even if it wasn’t the right building maybe someone inside could tell him how to find the place he was looking for.
When he reached the building he shifted from foot to foot, nervous about just walking inside. What if no one was inside and there was an alarm set? Of course, lights were still on so sucked in a breath and pushed the door open, deciding that this was going to be one of those times that he just walked blindly into a situation. If he got in trouble then he got in trouble, it wasn’t like he had never done anything wrong before. “Hello?” he called out into the building, wondering if anyone could hear him
